Stellaris Gets Cosmic Storms DLC, Introducing New Space Storms and Origins

Posted on

The Stellaris developers have returned to the mechanics of space storms and refreshed them. Once again, they have prepared a new addition.

Recently, another expansion, Cosmic Storms, was released for Stellaris. This time, the developers focused on the mechanics of space storms.

Storms will appear in the world of Stellaris in random locations several years after the start of the game:

“There is a time lag between storms appearing, and there is a limit on the number of storms that can appear in a galaxy in the early, mid, and late game. These limits can be configured when creating a galaxy. Storms created by players, events, and other mechanics will appear regardless of the galaxy settings.”

Every storm will have a destination – it will disappear after the time required to reach its destination.

New in the Cosmic Storms expansion :

  • 8 New Space Storms
  • Origin of the Storm Chasers
  • 3 new civilian models

— Planetary landscapes

— Astrometeorology

— Devotion to the storm

  • Aspiration bonus for controlling galactic weather
  • Weather forecast mode on the map
  • Two new precursor stories with two new relics
  • Events, anomalies and excavation sites
  • Storm related technologies, decrees, resolutions of the galactic community
