Little Kitty, Big City Review – Main Idea: Keep your cat away from windows!

A cat in a cute Japanese town; Would you like to help him get back home on an unforgettable adventure of discovery, where he meets other animals and has to deal with different situations?

Even though there are all kinds of pets, big or small, that accompany many people’s daily lives with their cuteness and mischief, in the end, we love them all equally. The fact that the majority of the most viewed videos on social media are about them proves this. The situation is no different in games, and recently Stray was the biggest example. Now we are faced with another cute cat hero with Little Kitty, Big City, which was added to Xbox Game Pass from day one. So, what should we expect from this game in which we cause trouble for the town we are in with our charismatic black cat with green eyes? As a cat owner, I left the game in my daughter’s hands, we studied it together and had a lot of fun. Here are all the details.

Let’s start by saying that this is an indie game. Although it may seem a little simple at first glance, it manages to hook the player with the entertainment it offers as it progresses. The game offers a mechanic for everything a cat can do. The story takes place in a typical Japanese town and presents a very realistic depiction of the city with buildings, shops, surrounding structures, parks and many details that you can interact with. A game that takes us in a different direction, breaks the monotony of conventional games and literally gives us the peace and quiet we so need.

Never mind people.
The map is not very big and it is obvious that the developers have no intention of open world. There aren’t even details like the eyes or mouths of the people we interact with. Because the game focuses entirely on drawing attention to the animals and the place. On the other hand, the level of detail in this minimalism is completely sufficient and although it is not noticeable, it makes us feel that everything is complete. Unfortunately, we had to struggle with strange errors while playing. Although getting stuck somewhere on the map was not a big deal, the broken mechanics of pulling things prevented you from completing a mission in the game. But at the time we were writing the review, the developer fixed all of them with an update.

Little Kitty ,
there’s no prequel detailing the origins of our furry friend in Big City, so forget about it. On the contrary, we find ourselves as a cat sleeping peacefully in a window located in a rather tall building. Ironically, while stretching, we suddenly fall down and this becomes our starting point. Of course, when we stand up after our fall, we immediately realize that our goal is to climb home. But unfortunately our house is too high for us to reach. At this point, a crow appears and offers to help us in exchange for some shiny objects. In fact, the rest of the game is spent helping other animals to achieve our goals.

As a cat; We have actions such as pushing objects down, jumping, going into holes, being cute with people or walking around their feet. The puddles we encounter on the road, people and dogs that can catch us are the biggest obstacles we have to overcome. First of all, we need to acquire the climbing ability, the stages of which we will develop over time. For this, we recommend that you accept every mission that will offer you fish. Also don’t miss some of the fish scattered around.

Let’s see how many cute hats you can find.
Of course, this is not the only thing we will do on our journey. Other animals that appear ask us to perform certain tasks, help them, and also get something for our hero. The rewards of most of them come back to us in the form of cute hats. Some of these are hidden in the corners of the streets and are not just cosmetic items. I won’t give too much detail so as not to spoil the surprise. As you explore the environment, you encounter many adventures to solve. There are many people around who can love us or make us angry. Don’t forget to follow their footsteps.

In addition to the collectibles like the hats we mentioned before, there are also some activities or side quests that do not affect our adventure but suit the game very well. Little Kitty is a play on the name Big City. The game fulfills its purpose by allowing us to have a fun and good time. It’s a game with simple but addictive mechanics that appeals to people of all levels. Also, now you can understand what it means to literally be in a cat’s body. The game is not very long, although we could not complete it due to a bug while I was playing on Xbox, the specified time is approximately two hours. Of course, after completing the main missions, you can continue playing the game and try to complete secondary objectives, it’s up to you.

Conclusion
Little Kitty, Big City is a game that doesn’t have too many pretensions, allowing us to be a cat and feel like a cat as we pass through a small town to get home. Without going too far, it is very simple but still allows you to have a good time. You can understand what the producers are trying to say. It’s not complicated, it directly puts us in very happy and funny situations through the eyes of a cat. It’s a short journey, but since it’s on Xbox Game Pass, it’s free to try anyway. Play and finish now. Indie games always manage to deliver fascinating offerings, and this game is proof of that.
