Sony and Team Asobi’s platformer is selling at a rapid pace in Japan, reflecting a reaction to the widespread acclaim it received from publishers.
According to Genki_JPN , the game is not only the #1 bestseller on Amazon Japan, but is also out of stock, having sold out. Since Astro Bot is new, Sony has yet to provide detailed sales information, but it is a solid indicator of a successful launch in Japan. Whether the game will sell similarly in other countries remains to be seen, but widespread acclaim and word of mouth suggest it is possible.
At the time of publication, the game has 94% after 115 media reviews on Metacritic and 95% after 86 reviews on Opencritic. Users cannot yet rate the game on Metacritic.
